This drawing is an exact copy of a piece by Charles Bargue, a 19th century French master, designed to be used as an exercise in copying techniques by his own art students. The idea of copying is to develop an eye for absolute accuracy, to be later applied to drawing from life. Drawn at the Florence Academy of Art, '03.
