Hans was a learned homeless man who'd migrated from Germany to Italy and became
a regular extracurricular model to the artists of the Florence Academy of Art. I drew this
portrait one drizzly afternoon with a couple of other students, 2003.
Charcoal on paper, 12" x 10".
